The credit is only available to the original purchaser of a new, qualifying vehicle. If a qualifying vehicle is leased to a consumer, the leasing company may claim the credit.

Cost incentives also vary state-by-state, so it’s a good idea to check your state’s hybrid incentives.

Hybrid Car Tax Credit Shock

Check out all information and paper work necessary so that you not get a shock when you dont get the Hybrid Car Tax Credit as you may have expected.

**The Type of Hybrid Car you purchased

You should already know that if you bought a Toyota or Lexus hybrid after Oct. 1, 2007, it isn’t eligible for a tax credit. Toyota sold more than 60,000 hybrid vehicles in the United States that were eligible for the full credit by the summer of 2006, so the government began phasing out tax incentives for the company’s hybrids beginning in the fall of that year. By the fall of 2007, the credits were gone.

** How Close you come to having to pay the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT)?

If you bought a fully credit-eligible hybrid though, you still might still get a much smaller credit than you were expecting. Or none at all.

It has nothing to do with how many hybrid vehicles the carmaker sold. Qualifying for the credit - and how much of it you can take - depends on how close you come to having to pay the Alternative Minimum Tax.

The AMT sets a minimum amount of tax you must pay even if you have deductions that are eligble to allow you to pay less.

The AMT disallows a lot of common deductions that are allowed under the regular code. If the AMT amount is higher, you must pay the AMT.

Here is how it works:

(1) If you tax bill is greater under the AMT than it is under the regular code, so you must pay the AMT an you get no hybrid tax credit.

(2) If your regular taxes, on the other hand, are $3,500 more than what you have to pay under the AMT, and you bought a hybrid car with $3,000 tax credit, you get the full 3,000 tax credit.

(3) However, if your regular taxes, are $1,200 more than what you have to pay under the AMT, and you bought a hybrid car with $3,000 tax credit, you get the tax credit of just $1,800.

There is a Hybrid Car Battery System and a smaller than normal Gasoline Engine in every Hybrid Car. Hybrids are a new generation of cars introduced in late 1990s by Toyota and Honda. Hybrids were designed with the idea of conservation and environment in mind. Many people who are new to the technology will think that all hybrids are designed similarly with each other.

Myth #1: Hybrid cars need to be plugged in

This is a myth that has resulted from confusion of hybrod cars with electric cars.

The electric cars indeed rely on an external plug for their power, and their range is therefore limited. Hybrid cars, however, use a mechanism known as ‘regenerative braking’ to charge their batteries — essentially transforming the car’s deceleration into electrical energy that is then stored in the battery.

Myth #2: Hybrid cars lack power

Because the first-generation hybrid cars were designed to get superior gas mileage (60 miles to the gallon), they were a little slow out of the gate. But today’s hybrid cars are both fast and powerful.

Newer hybrids are just as powerful as they are fast. the 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid can accelerate with almost the same V-6-like power as its gas-powered sibling, and the 2008 Lexus GS 450h can go from 0-100km/hr in just 5.2 seconds.

Of course, all other things being equal, more power generally translates into poorer fuel economy.

Myth #3: All hybrid cars have great fuel efficiency

It’s true that all hybrid cars are more fuel-efficient than their gasoline-only counterparts.

However, the fuel efficiency of a hybrid car is largely dependent on the type of driving you do. Because hybrids generate electrical power through braking (see above) and save power by switching off the gas engine when they come to a stop, they get better mileage in the city than they do on the highway. If you intend to do a lot of long distance highway driving, a hybrid may in fact provide very lower fuel efficiency.

Myth #4: Hybrid cars cost more to maintain

The cost of maintaining hybrid cars is no higher than for gasoline-only vehicles. There’s less wear on the engine and brakes, so the cars are predicted to require less repair over the life of the vehicle. Hybrid cars still need oil changes and tire rotations, but they don’t need them any more frequently than other cars.

People shopping for hybrids are sometimes concerned that because hybrid technology is new, they will only be able to get their hybrid cars serviced at an expensive dealership. Most of the components of a hybrid vehicle are the same as a gasoline-only car, so independent mechanics are able to do most of the work on hybrids. As these cars are becoming more popular, many mechanics are also attending classes on hybrid technology.

Myth #5: Hybrid cars have a short lifespan and are expensive to replace

It’s true that the nickel-metal batteries in hybrid cars cost a lot ( at least a few thousand dollars)to replace, however, the manufacturers offer warranties of 8-10 years or 160,000 km, so you should not have to worry about replacing the batteries.

Since there aren’t yet many hybrids on the road that have hit those lengthy milestones, it’s difficult to ascertain how long hybrid batteries will actually last. Anecdotally, however, a cab driver in Vancouver drove his Toyota Prius 320,000 km in 25 months, and his car’s batteries remained strong.

Myth #6: Hybrid cars are expensive

It’s true that the initial purchase price of hybrid cars are more costly than similar models powered only by gas. However there are some important savings to consider: “clean fuel” federal tax deduction; the ever rising cost of gasoline etc..

Let us do some quick math comparing the economics of a 2008 Toyota Camry hybrid, its gas-only basic counterpart, and a 2008 Toyota Prius. The Toyota Camry Hybrid costs $32,000 with a fuel efficiency of 5.7 l/100km (50 mpg) and annual fuel cost of $1140. The Toyota Camry LE (gas-only) costs $25,900 with a fuel efficiency of 8.0 l/100km (35 mpg) and annual fuel cost of $1600. A Toyota Prius costs $29,500 with a fuel efficiency of 4.1 /100km (57 mpg) and annual fuel cost of $820. (The fuel costs are based on 20,000 km (12,427.42 miles) per year at $1 per litre/ $2.18 per gallon.)

According to the above numbers, it would take 10 years of driving (200,000 km) to recoup the initial price difference between a Camry Hybrid and Camry LE, but only two years (40,000km) to recoup the price difference between a Toyota Prius and a Camry LE (excluding increased interest charges). If gas prices continue to rise, the payback time decreases. Likewise, the higher gas prices climb, the higher the resale value of a hybrid – already considerably more than that of a gas-only vehicle. The upshot? If you’re in the market for a new car anyway, a hybrid might well make economic sense.

If you are having a tough time separating hybrid truth from reality, you’re not alone. I hope the above help to debunk your Myths about Hybrid Cars.

A hybrid car is essentially a vehicle powered by two different sources: an electric motor and an internal combustion engine which propels the car. Hybrid cars are intended to reduce exhaust emissions whilst maintaining an acceptable level of performance.

They achieve this by combining a small petrol engine with battery powered electric motors. The small petrol engine gives low emission power for cruising and the electric motor gives the additional power for acceleration and hill climbing whilst adding no extra exhaust emissions. The battery is charged by absorbing the energy usually lost in heat during braking and during overrun as the car free wheels downhill or when you lift the accelerator pedal approaching hazards. The same rotating electric device works as a motor when electric power is fed to it and generates power for battery charging when absorbing power from the car wheels on overrun. This is controlled by on board computers.

A hybrid car is a vehicle that uses a rechargeable energy system and a normal gasoline fueled power source for propulsion. These cars are low-polluting and consume less gasoline than cars with pure internal combustion engines. The major difference between Hybrid cars and Electric cars is that hybrid cars can recharge its electric batteries by using the combustion engine to generate energy while all-electric cars use batteries charged by an external source.

The engine in the hybrid car is powerful enough to move the car along on the freeway, but when it needs to get the car moving in a hurry, or go up a steep hill, it needs help. That “help” comes from the electric motor and battery — this system steps in to provide the necessary extra power.

Different manufacturers have adopted slightly different strategies for the more detailed aspects of energy economy. Honda stop the engine when the car is stopped. It starts automatically when you engage gear to move off. Otherwise the petrol engine is always running.Toyota cars will drive short distances without the petrol engine, relying entirely on the electric drive.

All manufacturers go to some lengths to keep weight down by using aluminium components and careful design. Aerodynamic efficiency is also considered very important. The extra complexity of the hybrid technology means that these cars are more expensive than conventional cars. Costs will come down if production volumes go up.

I RECEIVED A WONDERFUL MIRACLE - JESUS HEALED ME OF CANCER

I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER - MY ONLY HOPE WAS HOPE A MIRACLE

My name is Andrew Kakepetum, of Sandy Lake, Ontario. In 2001, I was examined and treated medically for a sickness in the area of my pancreas. The next year, the specialists made a definite diagnosis: I had galloping cancer. The doctor said that I should have radiation treatment.

I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH GALLOPING CANCER AND WAS SCHEDULED FOR RADIATION TREATMENT - WE CALLED PASTOR MAX SOLBREKKEN FOR PRAYER

GOD IS A MIRACLE WORKER

We called Pastor Max Solbrekken in Edmonton for prayer - the only hope left was a miracle. Pastor Max Solbrekken was in Hawaii, but spoke to us several times and prayed powerful prayers over the telephone. Pastor Max Solbrekken told us that God was a MIRACLE WORKER and that God had promised in His Word to answer our prayers… Pastor Solbrekken told us to continue praying and expect a miracle.

WE PRAYED SEEKING GOD FOR A MIRACLE

I was getting weaker and having a hard time walking, but my wife Jessica and I decided to draw closer to God by reading His word and praying together. Often, we would rise at 3:00 am to seek God. We prayed for a miracle, a miracle healing. We had anointed a certain chair with oil in the name of Jesus. I would sit in that chair during these time of prayer and seeking God.

I CONTINUED TO GET WORSE BUT WE CONTINUED TO PRAY AND SEEK GOD FOR A MIRACLE

One time I felt there was no hope and I told Jessica some things about our business affairs. Jessica refused to listen. She said she wasn’t going to let me die and that God would keep His Word to us and that I would receive a miracle of healing.

We were in turmoil in the summer of 2002 because I was getting worse. We had continued to pray and yet I had not received a miracle. We had asked Pastor Solbrekken to be our Camp speaker that summer. I was waiting for Pastor Solbrekken to pray for me again. We had a wonderful time as God’s presence was so real.

I WENT TO THE DOCTOR THAT SUMMER AND THE DOCTOR COULD NOT FIND ANY CANCER - I HAD RECEIVED A MIRACLE

Later that summer I began to feel stronger and walking much better. When I went in to see my doctor, he gave me the GOOD NEWS. The doctor could not find any CANCER. It was gone. Praise God forever. God gave me a miraculous healing miracle.

I came home with my son Eddy. When I walked into the house, Jessica was sitting at the table. I looked at her and said, “Do you know what the doctor told me?”

Then she got up and walked toward me and I still didn’t say anything. When she came real close, I told her, “The doctor has confirmed that he could not find even A TRACE OF CANCER.”

We hugged each other, and started to cry and praise the Lord Jesus Christ. We thanked God and praised him for His great faithfulness and blessing toward us. We thanked him for this wonderful miracle healing that he had given me. Praise the Lord.

GOD IS A MIRACLE WORKER - HAVE FAITH IN GOD BECAUSE WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE

Don’t ever give up hope. Jesus Christ will answer your prayers. Jesus Christ will give you a miracle but you must have faith and be diligent to him.

THE KEY TO RECEIVING MIRACLES AND ANSWERS TO PRAYERS IS IN SEEKING GOD IN PRAYER, PRAISE, WORSHIP AND EXPECTANT FAITH
By: Pastor Max Solbrekken, D.D.

The key to receiving miracles and answers to prayers in found in seeking God in prayer, praise, worship and having expectant faith. Unfailing faith that God will answer your prayers and expect a miracle.

I believe that a major key to Andrew Kakepetum’s miraculous healing miracle can be found in the steadfast faith that he and Jessica have had year after year. The constant faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, has been exhibited in their godly lifestyle and exemplary Christian testimony.

During the awful months of Andrew’s serious illness, Andrew and his wife Jessica would often rise at 3:00 am and stay in prayer until sun-up. Together they would talk of the goodness of God, praying and seeking him for a miracle and reminding Him of His promise to them.

These times of worship and adoration at the feet of Jesus, were probably the most important element in the mixture of faith, trust and the gifts of healing, that brought this miracle to fruition.

I have know Andrew and Jessica Kakepetum and their family wince 1971. They were married on July 10, 1949 and are respected elders in the Church and community. Andrew is 74 years of age and is as ‘fit as a fiddle’ since this wonderful miracle at the hands of Jesus.

I extol and praise our Heavenly Father through the Blessed Holy Spirit for His great gift to us, Jesus Christ our Saviour, Healer, Baptizer in the Holy Ghost and our soon to return in the Second Coming King. Amen.

(1) However, to answer your question, you have to know your reasons for buying a hybrid car because not all hybrids address those issues equally. This is one of the more important questions to address when you are considering buying a hybrid car.

(2) The second most important question to consider is what kind of conditions will you be driving your hybrids.

(3) Lastly are you looking for a hybrid sedan, a hybrid SUV or a luxury hybrid?

Fuel Economy

If you want to use as little gas as possible, then the Toyota Prius or the Honda Civic Hybrid are the best, followed by the Toyota Camry Hybrid and the Nissan Altima Hybrid.

The Civic and the Prius hybrids are in the same relative price range, whilst the Camry and Altima hybrids are in the other same price range.

In terms of pure fuel efficiency, especially in city driving or in a traffic congestion situation, Toyota Prius, like all Toyota hybrids, have larger hybrid batteries and thus making them capable of using only electrical power at lower speeds. Therefore the Prius is a bit of a better performer in terms of pure fuel efficiency.

The Prius is also a big hit with the environmentalists because being a full hybrid it pollutes very little. The CO2 emissions are tremendously reduced.

Honda Civic Hybrid however is a better choice if you drive mostly on the highway or at a consistent speed.

The 2nd tier of hybrid vehicles in terms of fuel economy, the Nissan Altima Hybrid and the Toyota Camry Hybrid, provide excellent city fuel economy as well. Both the conventional Camry and the hybrid Camry were named Motortrend’s Vehicle of the year for 2007.

Tax credits for Toyota Prius expired fully recently. So, if the tax credit is an important concern, then you might want to consider the Civic hybrid. However, the Civic hybrid tax credit will be cut in half as of January 1st 2008.

The Altima hybrid will qualify for the full clean vehicle tax credit, unlike the Camry. So, again, if the tax credit is important, then maybe the Altima hybrid is a better choice.

Other Hybrid Sedans

The Honda Accord hybrid is a different breed of hybrid. It is more powerful, and significantly more fuel efficient than its conventional cousin. In urban, stop-and-go traffic, however, the hybrid Accord is the least efficient of all the hybrids. This hybrid is a purely a highway vehicle.

GM now offers the Saturn Aura hybrid and will soon offer the Chevy Malibu hybrid. Both of these hybrids are mild hybrid vehicles, meaning that they cannot be powered on electric power only. Both only provide a minimal increase in fuel economy, however, each offer the best fuel economy of any Aura or Malibu, respectively.

If fuel economy is your main priority, then neither the Malibu hybrid, nor the the Aura hybrid are best buys. However, if you like the Aura or the Malibu, then the hybrid versions is definitely a fuel economical option over that of the conventional model.

So can you decide which is the Best Hybrid Car?

The Environmental Protection Agency rated the Civic Hybrid at 48/47 mpg on its City/Highway test.

One thing you won’t have to worry about a Honda Civic Hybrid is Safety. It is equipped with front and side air bags which inflate the right amount for the specific severity of impact in an accident. The Civic Hybrid also has an excellent brakes that will provide a quick stop when one is necessary.

The 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid delivers excellent fuel economy and emission numbers without compromising too much in performance. Honda’s reputation for practical economy is shown in the Civic Hybrid — well built and simply designed to sip fuel. Interior tech options are usefully done, making this Honda Civic a great commuter.

A used Civic Hybrid represents a considerable value compared to a new vehicle. You are able to avoid the steep depreciation rates that occur with brand new vehicles. This gives you the advantage of getting the Honda Civic Hybrid for less money when it was new. If you get a properly maintained used Honda Civic Hybrid you have a good chance of steering clear of problems that would have developed when the car was new.

Here’s a little piece of technology you might be interested in seeing.

The amount you pay depends on various factors:

(1) Where you buy the vehicle. You are likely to get a better deal if you buy it from a private party as opposed to a dealer. On the other hand, a reputable dealer will normally have some kind of limited warranty, so you know that if the car breaks down right away, you are covered.

(2) A “Certified ” by manufacturer Honda Civic Hybrid may cost more but there is warranty service that normally does not come with a used car.

WITH fuel prices spiralling, driving a car that doesn’t have an endless thirst for petrol is becoming increasingly attractive. Personally I would go with the Honda Hybrid Cars namely Honda Civic Hybrid. Ebay and other private sellers out there are offering some good deals on new and used Civic Hybrid.
